Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Planning Engineer to guarantee on-time customer order delivery through close collaboration with Supply Chain, Central Planning, and Manufacturing.

You will manage material planning for production builds, perform capacity studies, and optimize loading plans to maximize output. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical/Computer engineering.
  • Demonstrated at least 2 years of leadership skills, such as in university or other co‑curricular activities.
  • Production and material planning expertise.
  • Capacity analysis and optimization techniques.
  • ERP system proficiency (SAP or equivalent).
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Highly motivated to work in a dynamic environment and succeed using effective coping and management methods.
  • Ability to multi-task and organize work systematically in meeting deadlines without compromising on quality.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration across functions.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making ability.

  • Prior programming work (including vibe coding with Gen AI tools).
  • Hands‑on experience in AI tools (Chatbot, Agentic AI, Automation) in academic or work environments, SAP warehouse modules, ASRS Management.
  • Experience with MRB resolution.
  • Internship or experience in semiconductor industry is a plus.
  • Interest in and knowledge of the semiconductor industry and Micron is preferred.
  • Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and AI literacy for responsible AI-enabled work.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure on-time delivery for production orders and collaborate with Supply Chain to fulfill requests.
  • Coordinate with Central Planning to optimize network loading and meet order commitments.
  • Partner with material planners to ensure sufficient materials for execution and secure wafer supply.
  • Plan weekly capacity feasibility with IE and optimize loading to maximize output.
  • Coordinate with Process Engineers to ensure proper production flows and lead-on time for orders.
  • Optimize probe job mixes and implement dashboards for early issue detection.
  • Participate in improvement projects and integrate AI-assisted tools to boost efficiency and quality.

Job Summary

The Planning Engineer is responsible for ensuring on‑time delivery of customer orders through effective collaboration with Supply Chain, Central Planning, and Manufacturing teams. This role manages material planning for production builds, performs capacity studies, and drives optimization of loading plans to maximize output. Success requires strong analytical skills, cross‑functional collaboration, and the ability to manage dynamic customer requirements while maintaining operational efficiency.

Main Responsibilities
Customer Delivery & Order Fulfillment
  • Ensure on‑time delivery for all production orders.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to understand customer requirements and fulfill ad‑hoc upside requests.
  • Work with Central Planning to optimize network loading and meet customer order commitments.
Material Planning for Production Builds
  • Partner with material planners to ensure sufficient materials for execution, including engineering requests and normal demand.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain and Central Planning to secure wafer supply.
Capacity Planning & Optimization
  • Plan, study, and analyze weekly capacity feasibility with Industrial Engineering (IE) for regular and ad‑hoc customer requests.
  • Optimize loading to maximize assembly output.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing on tactical horizon planning for immediate weeks.
Production Build Execution
  • Work with Process Engineers on special engineering lead lot build requirements.
  • Ensure production builds start with correct process flow and preparation.
  • Plan and coordinate with production teams to start planned orders on time.
  • Identify efficiency gaps and propose improvement solutions.
Scheduling Probe Jobs
  • Optimize job combinations (bins, repair densities, final param) to use system resources efficiently.
  • Implement dashboards and alerts for early detection of probe‑related issues.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to resolve discrepancies in probe results.
Other Responsibilities
  • Participate in area projects and improvement initiatives to enhance planning processes.
  • Support continuous improvement and cost optimization efforts.
  • Integrates AI‑assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
  • Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI‑enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work.
