CNRS invites applications for a PhD student position within GeM and PIMENT laboratories, Nantes and Saint-Nazaire. The research focuses on compressed earth blocks, soil–formulation interactions, and hygrothermal building simulations.

The candidate will work across two sites, publishing results and presenting at international conferences. The project ASTER aims to promote local materials on Réunion Island, combining experimental work, modeling, and AI-driven analysis to reduce material imports.

Formación

• Engineering degree or Master's in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or Environmental Engineering.
• Fluency in French and English for presenting research at conferences and writing articles.

Responsabilidades

• Develop predictive models linking soil properties, formulations, and material performance.
• Numerical hygrothermal modelling at building scale using EnergyPlus and AI-based analyses.
