Job summary

OrthoCarolina in Huntersville is seeking a Physician Assistant to support our providers across clinic and hospital settings. The PA delivers medical care under physician supervision, assists in the operating room as needed, and participates in comprehensive patient management for a range of orthopedic injuries and illnesses.

Responsibilities include exams, diagnostic tests, injections, wound care, documentation, and coordination of care with orthopedic surgeons.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA accredited physician assistant program.
• Current North Carolina PA license.
• Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Prior orthopedic experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Examines patient, performs physical examinations and compiles medical data.
• Administers or orders diagnostic tests (x-ray, ECG, labs) and interprets results with surgeons.
• Performs injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and casts/splints management.
• Assists in surgery as needed and provides operating room support.
• Develops patient management plans and records progress notes; ensures continuity of care.
• Dictates/discharges summaries and documents care in patient records; uses computer systems to access data.
• Rounds on inpatients and provides ER and floor consultations as directed.
