Duties

The position provides comprehensive care to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients within the Indian Health Service. Responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment planning, medication administration, patient education and multidisciplinary collaboration. Shift work may include on‑call hours or standby duty, possible nights, weekends and rotating shifts ranging from 8, 10 and 12 hours.

Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Selectee may be subject to a probationary period.
  • Public Law 101‑630 requires that the employee have no convictions of certain crimes involving contact or control over Indian children.
  • Employee health policies related to measles, rubella and seasonal influenza immunizations apply; vaccine exemption requests may be available per national or unit guidance.
  • Background investigation, including fingerprint check, is required prior to hire; continuation of employment contingent on satisfactory results.
  • Successfully pass the E‑Verify employment verification check.
  • Obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensed qualifications; failure to maintain privileges may result in removal from Federal service.
  • Set up direct deposit for salary.
  • Position may require rotating shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays); shift rotations may vary.
