Description du poste

Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems.

The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!

We are at the forefront of the quantum race, competing with tech giants such as Google or IBM, and we are growing fast after securing €100 million of funding in 2025 to develop our unique technology.

Currently 100+ and counting, between physicists, PhD students, engineers and experienced business professionals, we are united to reach our ambitious goal. Are you a quantum pioneer? Join us on a mission to reshape the future!

Inside the Quantum Hardware department, the Nanofabrication Front End team is in charge of producing the superconducting circuits that serve as a basis of our quantum computer. The manufacturing process involves using thin film deposition and patterning methods (evaporation, etching, lithography…) performed in a cleanroom environment. The team is in charge of developing and improving the process, and manufactures the prototype chips of the company.

Are you passionate about cutting-edge technology and eager to work on groundbreaking innovations in quantum computing?

As a Nanofabrication Process Engineer at Alice & Bob, you'll play a pivotal role in the fabrication of superconducting circuits—critical components for next-generation quantum processors. In this context, you will have to master advanced fabrication and characterization techniques to reach state-of-the-art performances.

This role combines expertise in 100 kV Ebeam lithography technology, process drift problem-solving, collaborative work with the other nanofab team members, data analysis, quantum physicists and microwave engineers to identify and pursue new development approaches, participation in the technical “life” and evolution of our new nanofabrication facility.

You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a revolutionary field while collaborating with experts and traveling to partner technology platforms in the Île-de-France region. If you’re a tech enthusiast with a drive for precision and a passion for quantum technology, we want you on our team!

Responsibilities
  • Improve the current fabrication process to increase the quality and parameters reproducibility
  • Fabricate superconducting circuits in a cleanroom environment
  • Perform characterization of manufactured devices (SEM, AFM, basic room temperature measurements, etc.)
  • Conduct data analysis and write reports to the rest of the company, to help the definition of DoE and improvement plan
  • Stay up to date, in the state-of-the-art fabrication process of Superconducting Qubit
  • Participate in the operation of our future nanofab facility by taking the responsibility of one or two process equipment
  • Identify and implement improvements in hardware capabilities to enhance production efficiency
Requirements
  • Educational Background: A PhD or master’s degree in nanofabrication, physical characterization, semiconductors or equivalent
  • Experience: 3+ years of cleanroom experience
  • Technical Skills: 100 kV Ebeam lithography; Laser lithography, wet and dry chemical etching, thin film deposition; Material and device characterization methods
  • Key Competencies: Meticulous and patient; Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset; A proactive, curious, and committed attitude toward work and personal development
  • Nice to have: Experience in fabricating superconducting circuits and microwave simulation
  • Compensation & Benefits: Own it with our BSPCE plan; Turn your ideas into patents – and (competitive) patent bonuses; Flexible remote policy, up to 40 % a month; A Parental plan including additional benefits such as crèche support or additional days‑off to take care of under 12 years old children; Subsidized membership with Urban Sports Club; Mental health support with moka.care; 25‑day vacation policy (as per French law) + RTT; Half of transportation cost coverage (as per French law), or yearly allowance for the die‑hard bicycle users; Competitive health coverage, with Helium/Axa; Meal vouchers with Swile, and access to a fully equipped and regularly stocked kitchen
Recruitment Process
  • Screening Call with Giusy, Talent Acquisition Specialist (30 min)
  • Hiring Manager Interview with the Hiring Manager (45 min)
  • Technical Interview/Presentation with the Team (60 min)
  • Leadership and Fit Interview (45 min)
