With five faculties and a dynamic network of research centres and institutes, the ICL supports high‑level research in fields such as law, ethics, political science, engineering, education, health, sustainability and environment, societal transitions, theology, and more.

Priority topics include the following areas. Nonetheless, the call remains open to any project relevant to the disciplines and expertise of the host research teams.
