Offer Description
  • work environment: PCCEI is a multidisciplinary joint research unit composed of researchers, engineers, academics, and university hospital staff. It is spread across two sites: INSERM's Occitanie Méditerranée Regional Delegation in Montpellier & the Pierre Zobda-Quitman Hospital in Fort-de-France. With expertise in the field of infectious disease research, PCCEI promotes translational research, between clinical and fundamental science, on HIV transmission and associated chronic and emerging infections. It carries out projects in close collaboration with regional hospitals and those in the Antilles, but also internationally, with countries in sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia.
  • main mission: (1) Assess the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of a community-based intervention consisting of mass tuberculosis screening with sequential community-based network screening and peer-to-peer tuberculosis contact tracing to reduce the prevalence of tuberculosis among injecting drug users in Hai Phong, Vietnam. (2) Determine whether collective methamphetamine use constitutes a high-risk situation for tuberculosis transmission, based on data collected as part of the DRIVE-TB project.
