Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
OPUS Aerospace is seeking an engineering student to contribute to aerodynamic and trajectory studies for operational launches. You will help develop modules for our in-house flight simulator to better reflect real flight conditions in future studies.
The role requires a cross-disciplinary understanding of propulsion, structures, aerodynamics and flight dynamics, with hands-on work in MATLAB/Simulink or Python. C++ is a plus, and you will join an international, multidisciplinary team.
OPUS Aerospace is a start-up founded in 2020, positioned at the crossroads of space and defense, based in Brétigny-sur-Orge on the former Air Base 217, developing sounding rockets for very high altitude up to the edge of space, dedicated to dual-use applications.
Through Mesange, its supersonic sounding rocket, the company addresses defense applications such as simulating aerial threats, qualifying detection and interception systems, and training armed forces, as well as civilian missions such as microgravity experiments, upper atmosphere research, and qualifying space technologies in a real environment.
As it prepares for Mesange’s first flight, OPUS Aerospace is building a sovereign, disruptive capability brick by brick.
As part of the Systems department, you will contribute to the aerodynamic and trajectory studies supporting operational launches: downrange distance, aerodynamic stability, vehicle performance, impact dispersion analysis and interactive visualisation of results.
Your main mission will be to develop new modules for our in-house flight simulator, so that it better represents real flight conditions in future studies. This work requires a cross-disciplinary understanding of propulsion, structures, aerodynamics and flight dynamics.
Modules you may develop during the internship include:
