Alice & Bob is seeking a Mechatronic Engineering Intern to contribute to multidisciplinary design, manufacturing, assembly and testing in a highly technical environment. You will work mainly on mechanical design activities for cryogenic, RF, and electronic applications, with opportunities to assist in validation and testing of systems and hardware as part of a pioneering quantum technology program.

Qualifications

• Final year of Master’s degree in Engineering in Mechanical Design or Mechatronic.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modelling and 2D drawings).
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, metallic materials, machining, and assembly.
• Good knowledge of electronics, instrumentation, or mechatronic systems.

Responsabilités

• Perform mechanical design (3D/2D) with thermal and structural constraints for demanding environments.
• Produce parts drawings, select materials, and consider machining constraints and treatments.
• Assist with integration of electronic or RF components into mechanical assemblies.
• Set up test benches and experimental configurations for validation.
• Support testing, qualification, troubleshooting, and data acquisition on multidisciplinary systems.
• Draft assembly procedures, technical documentation, and system diagrams.

Are you looking for an internship where you can apply your mechanical engineering skills to real, cutting‑edge systems?

As a Mechatronic Engineering Intern, you will work on multidisciplinary projects that combine design, manufacturing, assembly, and integration in a highly technical environment.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical foundation who is also curious about electronics, instrumentation, and test activities.

In this role, you will primarily support mechanical design activities. You will work on new developments and specific high‑tech projects involving cryogenic, RF, and electronic applications, with opportunities to assist in validation and testing mechanical and electronic systems.

Through this work, you will help turn complex concepts into robust, practical solutions that support Alice & Bob’s mission to build breakthrough quantum technologies.

The internship will start in September 2026.

Responsibilities:

At Alice & Bob you will:

• Do the mechanical design (3D, 2D) and sizing, including thermal and structural constraints in demanding environments
• Participate in design for manufacturing, including parts technical drawings, material selection, machining constraints, heat and surface treatments
• Follow parts manufacturing, reception, inspection, and assembly
• Assist with the integration of electronic or RF‑related components into mechanical assemblies
• Participate in the setup of test benches and experimental configurations
• Support testing, qualification, troubleshooting, and data acquisition on multidisciplinary systems
• Draft assembly procedures, technical documentation, and system/interface diagrams

Requirements:

Hard Skills:

• Final year of Master's degree in Engineering in Mechanical Design or Mechatronic
• Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modelling and 2D drawings)
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, metallic materials, machining, and assembly
• Good knowledge of electronics, instrumentation, or mechatronic systems
• Familiarity with test benches, sensors, wiring, connectors is a plus

• Organized, autonomous, and detail‑oriented
• Curious and willing to work across disciplines
• Problem‑solving mindset
• Fluent in English
