A pioneering quantum computing company in Paris is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to assist the engineering team in the development of mechanical components. The ideal candidate will be a mechanical engineering student who is dynamic, organized, and detail-oriented, with proficiency in SolidWorks and a strong understanding of mechanics and production processes. The internship provides hands-on experience and exposure to cutting-edge technology in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Familiarity with material properties and characterization methods.
• Experience with both conventional and CNC machining.

Responsabilités

• Assist in mechanical design and sizing.
• Create 2D drawings and files for manufacturing.
• Coordinate suppliers from pre-project through final acceptance.
• Oversee parts acceptance and assembly processes.
• Conduct final equipment tests and qualification.
• Draft assembly and operational diagrams.
• Support testing activities.

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern , your mission is to assist the engineering team in various tasks related to the design, development, and production of mechanical components. You will gain hands‑on experience by supporting design activities, helping to create manufacturing drawings, and learning about key manufacturing processes.

Under the guidance of senior engineers, you will contribute to solving technical challenges, improve your skills in mechanical design, and learn about material and processes linked to operations in cryogenic environments (near 0 Kelvin) and RF / superconducting systems. Your projects will be supervised by the Senior Mechanical Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design and sizing
• Creation of 2D drawings and files for manufacturing
• Supplier coordination from pre-project through final acceptance
• Overseeing parts acceptance, assembly, and manufacturing processes
• Final equipment tests & qualification
• Drafting of assembly and operational diagrams
• Supporting testing activities

Requirements

• Mechanical engineering student, for a 6 months internship.
• Strong understanding of general mechanics, production, and thermal engineering
• Familiarity with material properties and characterization methods
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, including 3D modeling, 2D ISO dimensioning. Solidworks PDM is a plus.
• Experience with both conventional and CNC machining
• Fluent English communication
• Dynamic, organized, independent and detail-oriented
• Proficient with office automation tools
