A data collection firm in France seeks reliable and safety-focused professional drivers for a mapping data collection project. You'll operate client-provided vehicles with mapping equipment to gather street-level data. Strong driving skills and independence are essential, as the role requires traveling and working in 'hotel mode'. Preferred candidates will have significant driving experience, technical awareness, and a calm demeanor under pressure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of driving experience required.
• At least 2 years of professional driving experience (taxi, delivery, logistics).
• Comfortable driving larger vehicles (vans, trucks) preferred.
• Experience driving vans or trucks is strongly preferred.
• Defensive, safety-oriented driving style.
• Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation tools.
• Knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns in the working country.
• Polite, professional demeanor when interacting with the public.
• Willingness to travel and stay on assignment for extended periods.

Responsabilités

• Safely operate vehicles equipped with mapping and data collection equipment.
• Collect mapping data efficiently in compliance with project guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of vehicle and equipment.
• Maintain vehicle and equipment cleanliness and basic upkeep.
• Research safe local parking locations to ensure security.
• Securely park, cover, and safeguard the vehicle daily at designated locations.
• Report incidents professionally, including traffic incidents and interactions.
• Coordinate daily activities with the Camp Coordinator and project team.
• Communicate technical or operational issues promptly.
• Meet daily and weekly delivery targets in collaboration with project coordinators.
• Travel long distances as required and work in hotel mode during assignments.
• Maintain accurate inventory and device logs in the system.

Role Overview

We are seeking reliable and safety-focused professional drivers to support a large-scale mapping data collection project. Drivers will operate client-provided vehicles equipped with specialized mapping equipment to collect high-quality street-level data across assigned zones. This role requires strong driving skills, technical awareness, and the ability to work independently while coordinating closely with field coordinators.

Travel and extended assignments away from home (hotel-based work) are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate client-provided vehicles equipped with mapping and data collection equipment
• Collect mapping data within assigned zones efficiently and in compliance with project guidelines
• Handle and protect all client-provided vehicles, devices, and equipment
• Maintain vehicle and equipment cleanliness and basic upkeep
• Research and identify safe local parking locations to ensure vehicle and equipment security
• Securely park, cover, and safeguard the vehicle daily at designated locations
• Report and handle incidents, including traffic accidents and public interactions, in a professional manner
• Coordinate daily activities, assignments, and issue resolution with the Camp Coordinator
• Communicate technical, mechanical, or operational issues promptly
• Meet daily and weekly delivery targets in collaboration with project coordinators
• Travel long distances as required and work in “hotel mode” during assignments
• Maintain accurate inventory and device logs in the designated system or application

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of driving experience
• At least 2 years of professional driving experience (e.g., taxi, delivery, logistics, courier)
• Good English
• Experience driving larger vehicles (vans, trucks) is strongly preferred
• Defensive, calm, and safety-oriented driving style
• Comfortable driving in high-traffic and stressful conditions (e.g., rush hour)
• Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation tools
• Good knowledge of local roads, neighborhoods, and traffic patterns in the working country
• Polite, professional, and respectful demeanor when interacting with the public
• Basic technical and mechanical knowledge (e.g., changing tires, reading vehicle gauges)
