Qualifications

  • Between 4 – 6 years of legal experience, preferably in construction or industrial sector.
  • Bilingual in French and English; Arabic is a plus.

Mission

We are looking for a legal counsel to join the Legal department team of Colas Rail under a fixed-term contract (CDD) of 6 to 10 months and advise operational departments on all activities related to the railway sector (construction and maintenance of railroad lines, tramways, metro, electrification of tracks, overhead lines, etc….)

Main Responsibilities
Regarding projects
  • Analysis of legal documentation for public tenders in order to identify the main legal risks and opportunities;
  • Draft, review and negotiate in relation with the commercial, technical and financial teams, all type of contracts relating to the execution of projects (such as supply agreements, subcontracts, services providers agreements);
  • Draft, review and negotiate contracts to be concluded with partners (such as consortium agreement, joint venture);
  • Provide legal advice to operation teams during the execution of the contracts in collaboration with the Contract Manager in charge of the project, as well as review or draft the legal aspects of claims.
Day-to-day legal advise
  • Provide day-to-day comprehensive legal advice to the operation team, covering various aspects of international law;
  • Offer support and guidance to the HR department concerning legal matters related to labor and employment.
  • Coordinate the implementation of Groupe compliance program and activities. The Compliance Officer is the Legal Director of Colas Rail.
Concerning litigation
  • Analysis of the issues and development of a litigation strategy in coordination with the Contract Management teams as well as with the Legal Department in Paris;
  • Coordination with external counsels.
In terms of corporate management
  • Management of formalities for the local entity in coordination with the corporate team based in France.

All this ensuring compliance with the group's principles in terms of risks and contractual commitments, and in terms of Ethics and Compliance.

Qualifications / Experience required
  • Bachelor Law Degree (a Master degree is a plus).
  • Between 4 – 6 years (2 or 4 years’ experience in the construction or industrial sector is a plus).
  • Billigual French and English, Arabic is a plus.
