Job summary

The French Sourcer is seeking a Lead Developer in Caen to guide the evolution of our SaaS platform and mentor the engineering team on-site.

You will drive architecture decisions, contribute to the codebase, and define a pragmatic migration path from the monolith while balancing delivery with long-term stability. This role requires collaboration with product and business stakeholders to shape a technical roadmap and improve testing, reviews, and deployment practices.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience making and documenting architecture decisions.
• Experience with monolithic applications and modernization strategies.
• Strong understanding of software design, automated testing, code reviews, and deployment practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture decisions for a SaaS platform facing growing demands.
• Contribute to codebase and review designs and code changes.
• Define a migration strategy to move away from the monolith while delivering features.
• Mentor developers and support their technical development.
• Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to shape a realistic technical roadmap.
• Assess technical debt and decide what to address, document, or defer.
• Improve testing, code reviews, documentation, and deployment practices.
• Support production investigations and drive lasting improvements.
• Contribute to technical recruitment and onboarding of new developers.
