About the Role

We are seeking a visionary Lab Director to lead a world-class AI Infrastructure R&D Lab in Paris, focused on large-scale model training and inference systems. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team of researchers and engineers, collaborate across global R&D hubs, and influence the future of scalable AI systems at industrial and academic levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the R&D strategy and long-term innovation roadmap for large-scale AI infrastructure.
• Lead cutting-edge projects in distributed parallelism, numerical computing, and automatic graph scheduling.
• Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing technical research team.
• Represent the lab at top-tier conferences (NeurIPS, ICLR, MLSys, OSDI, SC).
• Drive open-source initiatives and contribute to global AI standardisation efforts.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of high-impact technical teams (10+ members).
• Track record in scalable AI platform delivery or research contributions in LLM systems.
• Experience in industry-leading tech companies, AI startups, or research institutes.
• Fluent in English; French is advantageous.

Preferred

• Publications in NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, OSDI, SOSP, MLSys, or TPDS.
• Leadership experience in open-source or industrial-scale LLM projects.
• Familiarity with GPU/NPU co-design and heterogeneous system optimisation.
