Job summary

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris is seeking a Junior Economist for the Financial Economics Team within the Capital Markets and Financial Institutions Division. You will contribute to improving capital markets and access to finance through data-driven analysis and policy research.

You will report to a senior policy analyst and work with governments, international partners, and academic circles to broaden the evidence base and policy impact.

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in finance, economics, business and finance or related field with a strong quantitative focus.
• Strong analytical background in finance would be an advantage.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as R with the ability to write clean, efficient and well-documented codes is a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Manage and update financial databases, collect data from commercial and other sources, and improve data collection and management processes.
• Develop new databases and produce novel indicators.
• Stay abreast of emerging AI tools and methods to enhance data infrastructure, visualisation and analysis.
• Conduct policy-relevant research and technical analysis on capital markets.
• Present findings and policy implications to internal and external stakeholders.
