Opella Healthcare Group SAS is offering a 6-month internship in Drug Product Development & Delivery at our Compiègne site. The role focuses on formulation and process engineering for optimization and scale-up, including raw materials study and DOE-driven parameter definition.

You will work with formulation and analytical teams to plan pre-formulation studies, produce lab and pilot batches, and ensure quality and safety standards are met. Fluency in French/English is required.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Pharmaceutical or Scientific related fields.
  • Knowledge of process engineering and DOE is desirable.
  • Previous laboratory experience and formulation knowledge are a plus.
  • Analytical and synthesis abilities are valued.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

About the role:

Within our main Global Development Center, we are offering a 6-month internship ; ideally by the end of August/ September ; in the field of formulation and process Engineering for optimization/scale up of a new product. The general scope of the internship includes studying raw materials, formulating new products with associated process parameters to ensure quality and performance.

Key responsibilities:
  • Realize a bibliography study on raw materials and patent landscape study if relevant.
  • Liaise with raw materials suppliers.
  • Manufacture first pre-formulation studies and define process parameters.
  • Produce laboratory and pilot scale batches for scaling up.
  • Propose design of experiments (DOE and QBD approach) to define critical process parameters and to optimize process parameters.
  • Study all analytical data (analysis during manufacturing and stability) generated from compatibility studies up to laboratory / pilot batches.
  • Participate in proposals to solve technical issues from both formulation and process perspectives.
  • Write protocols, batch records and reports for technical trials.
  • Collaborate with R&D (formulation and analytical teams) for formula and process implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
About You :
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Pharmaceutical or Scientific related.
  • Knowledge of process engineering, Design of Experiments is desirable.
  • Previous laboratory experience, Formulation knowledge is a plus.
  • Analytical and synthesis abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Fluency in French and/or English is required.
  • Proficiency with computer tools (including IA) and strong oral and written communication skills are also appreciated.
