EVBox seeks a test engineer to join the Integration team in Léognan, France, focusing on embedded software and firmware validation. You will prepare, develop and execute tests, analyze results, and contribute to automated validation within an Agile setup.

You will work in a Linux/Ubuntu environment, use Python and Robot Framework for automation, and engage in CI processes, testability improvements, and defect resolution.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems or related field.
• 2+ years of professional Python development and/or software validation.
• Experience in a Linux environment.
• Experience with automated software testing.
• Experience in an industrial environment involving electronic equipment or embedded systems is a strong advantage.
• Proficient in Python and knowledge of Robot Framework.

As part of theIntegrationteam,youwillbeinvolvedin theentirevalidation process forembeddedsoftware andfirmware. Youwillberesponsibleforpreparing,developingandexecutingtestcampaigns, aswellasanalysingandfollowingup on testresults.

Testdevelopmentand automation

Youwillactivelycontributetoimprovingandautomatingthe validationprocess:

Youwillanalyse testresultsandcontributetovalidatingthattheimplementedfeaturesmeetthedefinedrequirements.

Defectmanagement and follow-up

Youwillberesponsibleforidentifyingandfollowingup ondefectsencounteredduringthe validationprocess:

• Identify,reproduceandcharacterisedefects.
• Documentdefectsclearlyandaccurately.
• Track issuesthroughtoresolution.
• Workcloselywithdevelopersto support root-causeanalysisandproblemresolution.
• Whenrequired, analyse source code to helpidentifythe root cause of an issue.

Reportingand communication

Youwillprovideregularand transparentreportingon validationactivities,including:

• Testsperformedand testcoverage.
• Teststhatcouldnotbeperformedand thereasonswhy.
• Testresults.
• Defectsidentifiedandtheirlevelofcriticality.
• Risks and key pointsrequiringattention.
• Progress ofongoingtestcampaigns.
• Qualityand validationmetrics,whererelevant.

Agileactivities

As part of an Agile organisation,youwillparticipatein:

• Daily Scrummeetings.

Youwillbringyourexpertise to discussionsaroundtestability,riskidentification, acceptancecriteriaand test effort estimation.

Testing in a real-worldenvironment

Youwillalsoberesponsibleforpreparingandcarryingouttestcampaignsin adedicatedtest area,withelectricvehiclesand EVchargingstations.

As part ofthisactivity,youmayworkin anindustrialenvironmentinvolvingelectricalequipment. Anelectricalsafetycertification/authorisationwillthereforeberequiredbeforeyoucanoperateinthisarea. Thenecessarytraining and certificationwillbeprovidedas part ofyouronboarding.

Aboutyou

You have aMaster’sdegree(Bac+5) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, EmbeddedSystemsor arelatedfield, andideallyat least2yearsofprofessionalexperiencein Pythondevelopmentand/or software validation.

You haveexperienceandknowledgein thefollowingareas:

• Experiencein softwaredevelopmentor validation inaLinuxenvironment.
• Experiencewithautomatedsoftware testing.
• Experiencein anindustrialenvironment,ideallyinvolvingelectronicequipmentorembeddedsystems,wouldbeastrongadvantage.
• ProfessionalexperienceorsolidknowledgeofPython.
• KnowledgeofRobot Framework.
