Sysco is the global leader in selling, marketing and distributing food products to restaurants, healthcare and educational facilities, lodging establishments and many others. The group’s range of products also includes equipment and supplies for the foodservice and hospitality industries. With more than 71,000 employees, the company operates 333 distribution facilities worldwide and serves more than 700,000 customer locations.

Today, the company is launching a new strategic plan: the Partnership Growth Management. The PGM is the evolution of Sysco’s Category Management processes and represents a new approach to how Sysco partners with suppliers in all categories across their business.

In this context, the company is creating new roles that will allow Sysco to better manage its sales and margins. The Insight Analyst will work with large complex data sets produced by the International Data Team to create accurate, powerful and insightful reports and dashboards using live data in efforts to support the decision‑making process.

You will report to the Head of Projects & Insights.

The key responsibilities include:
Facilitating the decision‑making
  • Developing, maintaining, and automating data reports using reporting and analytical tools (such as SQL, Alteryx, Python, Tableau, and Excel)
  • Demonstrating data visualization abilities (Power BI, Tableau, Excel, PowerPoint) to develop a “story” of insights from large and complex data sets.
  • Developing standardized analytics and easily understandable reporting outputs / dashboards to communicate outputs effectively and leverage these tools to define the current state for a given product range, including range definition and scope, current spend and cost drivers, customer and segment landscape, comparisons across markets and existing supply network mapping.
Communication with stakeholders
  • Preparing analyses to support merchandising teams within "sourcing events" or tenders, such as analysis on the commercial opportunity, best commercial vendor outcome etc. Consider "what if" scenarios.
  • Creating dashboards using Tableau (or other tools as needed) and reports for Commercial teams to manage "Better Selling" and optimize SKU rationalization.
  • Modeling, analyzing and comparing various supply chain scenarios using supply chain optimization tools in partnership with Logistics.
Contributing to the Sysco global initiative
  • Leading in the development, maintenance and enhancement / optimization of reports and tools to support Category and Assortment (range) Management; improving the usability of Sysco’s internal data sources; driving long‑term support for internal data management; identifying and implementing opportunities to further leverage 3rd party tools.
  • Providing training on reporting tools and solutions as part of deployment and ongoing support users (eg. Tableau, 1010Data, Business Objects, Microsoft Access / Excel)
  • Overseeing, developing, and deploying new tools and technologies as needed to support the role.
The core skills for this position are the following :

  • Previous experience navigating complex data sets across a high volume of customers and various global markets
  • Strong technical understanding of tools such as Tableau or Power BI and knowledge of creating accurate live dashboards and reports
  • Python, SQL, and Alteryx would also be beneficial
  • Fluent English and proficient French, Swedish or Spanish

The role is key to the PGM and the initiative carried out by Sysco to improve its margins and relationship with its business partners.
