Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographic procedures for inpatients and outpatients, including OR/ER/fluoroscopy, while adhering to ALARA principles. The role requires timely documentation, accurate labeling, and image quality control using RIS and PACS.

The position may involve off-site coverage and weekend/holiday rotations. Minimum qualifications include a two-year AMA-accredited Radiologic Technology program, ARRT registration or

Qualifications

• Registered by the ARRT or registry eligible.
• Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Department of Public Health: Radiation Control Program in Radiography.
• Certified in basic life support (BLS).
• Clinical internship completed in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of diagnostic radiographic procedures to produce images for diagnosis and treatment.
• Obtains and documents patient information/history for exams.
• Documents use of IV/oral contrast in medical records.
• Uses RIS with high accuracy for exams.
• Labels images with patient info and technologist initials accurately.
• Maintains Quality Control of exams using PACS.
• Assesses images to identify errors and determine if repeats are needed (repeat rate <5%).
• Applies ALARA to minimize radiation dose while ensuring image quality.
• Collaborates with team to provide optimal patient care.
• Willing to work off-sites as needed and maintain licensure.
• Participates in mandatory education and quality improvement activities.
