Job summary

XR BENTSH CONSULTING is seeking a Safety System Engineer to lead ICSS safety system studies (DCS, SIS, ESD, F&G) for onshore and offshore EPC projects in the Oil & Gas sector.

You will own specifications, assist with HAZID/HAZOP reviews, write functional specs, perform SIL verifications per IEC 61511, and coordinate with process, instrumentation and safety teams. Proficiency in English is essential for project documentation.

Experience in vendor follow-up, FAT, and validation support is valued.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in control and safety systems engineering for Oil & Gas EPC projects.
• Strong command of IEC 61511 and IEC 61508 and SIL studies.
• Knowledge of main DCS and SIS platforms and industrial network architectures.

We regularly recruit Safety System Engineers to work with a major Oil & Gas engineering group on onshore and offshore EPC projects. You take ownership of control and safety system studies, from specification through to validation.

Your responsibilities

• Carry out ICSS safety system studies (DCS, SIS, ESD, F&G) for onshore and offshore facilities.
• Take part in HAZID and HAZOP reviews and translate their outcomes into functional safety requirements.
• Write functional specifications, cause and effect matrices and control system network architectures.
• Perform SIL verification calculations in line with IEC 61511 using dedicated tools (GRIF, exSILentia or equivalent).
• Follow up ICSS vendors, attend FAT and support system installation and validation.
• Coordinate with the process, instrumentation and safety disciplines.

Your profile

• At least 10 years of experience in control and safety systems engineering, including significant exposure to Oil & Gas EPC projects.
• Strong command of IEC 61511 and IEC 61508 and of SIL studies.
• Knowledge of the main DCS and SIS platforms and of industrial network architectures.
• Hands on experience of HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA reviews.
• Professional English is essential, as all project documentation is in English.
