Job summary

Doctolib in Nantes is seeking an AI Engineer Intern to join our Tech team and help build AI-powered features for healthcare professionals and patients. You will prototype, evaluate, and integrate AI solutions, writing Python code and contributing to tests and documentation.

You will gain hands-on experience across the AI product lifecycle with mentoring, learning sessions, and real projects in healthcare. The internship is 6 months, hybrid with up to 2 remote days per week, starting March 2027.

Qualifications

• You are in the final year of a degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• You have basic experience with Python through coursework, personal projects, research, or internships.
• You understand programming concepts, data structures, and software development.
• You are curious about artificial intelligence and how AI systems work.
• You are comfortable communicating in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to AI feature development under guidance of engineers.
• Write Python code to support prototypes, experiments, tests, and backend components.
• Experiment with large language models, prompting, retrieval, and tool integration.
• Contribute to automated tests and documentation for developed components.
• Investigate issues, analyze results, and suggest improvements to the team.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and team rituals.

What you'll do

We are looking for an AI Engineer Intern to join our Tech team and contribute to the development of AI-powered features at Doctolib.

You will work closely with experienced AI and software engineers to explore, prototype, evaluate, and improve AI-based solutions. This internship will give you the opportunity to gain practical experience across the different stages of an AI product, from experimentation to integration into a production environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Contribute to the development of AI features and services under the guidance of experienced engineers
• Write Python code to support prototypes, experiments, evaluation tools, and backend components
• Experiment with large language models, prompting techniques, retrieval, and tool integration
• Contribute to automated tests and documentation for the components you develop
• Investigate issues, analyse results, and suggest improvements to your team
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and team rituals

You will receive regular guidance from your mentor and teammates. The scope of your work will grow progressively as you become familiar with the codebase, the tools, and the technical challenges.
