Job summary

Cozycozy is seeking a Head of Data & AI to own the function end to end and report directly to the CEO. You will steer data strategy across Revenue, Marketing, Product and Finance, acting as a consultative partner to translate needs into a technical roadmap and trustworthy figures.

You will split time between leadership (vision, roadmap, team management) and hands-on work on the hardest problems, building data products and AI agents that replace repetitive work.

Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on in Data & AI with leadership experience.
• Ability to translate business needs into a technical roadmap for multiple teams.
• Proven experience building pipelines and production ML systems with monitoring and CI/CD.
• Comfort operating in a fast-growing travel-tech startup environment.

About the role

We're looking for a Head of Data & AI to own the function end to end and report directly to the CEO. This is one of the most strategic seats in the company: data touches almost every team between Revenue, Marketing, Product, Finance. You will sit on the company's Operating Center, turning data into the decisions that steer the business.

You'll be a player-coach with roughly half leadership (vision, roadmap, team management, technical stack) and half hands-on technical work on the hardest problems. You'll act as a consultative partner to every function: distilling what teams need into a technical roadmap, and telling them plainly what the numbers actually say, even when it's inconvenient. You decide what software we build vs. buy, guarantee that every figure the company trusts is trustworthy, and push AI hard to kill manual, repetitive work.

About you

The qualities that matter the most for this role

• Autonomous self-starter: you find the most pressing problems yourself, set priorities and build the roadmap.

• Owner who ships: you own outcomes end to end and prefer putting a simple model live and iterating over polishing a notebook.

• Half leader, half builder: you shape strategy with the CEO, prototype data products, and lift your team by rebuilding with AI and first principles rather than patching.
  

Must-haves

• 4+ years hands-on in Data & AI: (DE, MLE, DS or similar), with experience leading scope, mentoring juniors, or owning a data function.

• Business partner: you turn needs from Revenue, Marketing, Product and Finance into a clear technical roadmap and make data legible to non-technical teams.

• Full-stack data and ML depth: you’ve built pipelines and medallion-style tables, ideally on a serverless AWS lakehouse (S3, Iceberg, Glue, Athena, dbt, Airflow/Dagster, Metabase). You’ve also shipped and maintained production ML (monitoring, retraining, CI/CD) and AI agents that automate manual work.
  

Nice-to-have

• Experience in travel or large-scale search and ranking, or in marketing data science (MMM, incrementality, causal methods).

You don't need to tick every box or have mastered every tool on our stack — but the ecosystem should speak to you, and you should be able to challenge and frame the work.
