The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Paris seeks a senior specialist to lead the development and supervision of GEF projects on artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) and primary mining within the Chemicals and Health Unit.

You will manage project setup, ensure fiduciary standards, support adaptive management and reporting, and coordinate with Executing Agencies and UNEP regional offices.

Qualifications

• Five years of international work in minerals/mining/metals value chain.
• Experience with international environmental programmes in developing countries.
• Experience with GEF or similar project cycles.
• Experience with private sector upstream innovation is desirable.
• Two years in data analytics or related area is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Lead development and supervision of GEF projects on ASGM and primary mining.
• Manage project setup, including legal agreements and due diligence.
• Oversee implementation with Executing Agencies and reporting.
• Ensure quality assurance and adaptive management.
• Support the UNEP High Impact Sector Team and mining work areas.
