Alan in France is seeking experienced software engineers to join the Claims Management engineering team, building systems that refund hundreds of millions of euros annually for members across France, Belgium, Spain and Canada. You will work with React, Python/Flask, PostgreSQL in a monorepo with daily deployments.

We value strong OO design, TypeScript and Python, and the ability to translate business needs into reliable software.

What you'll build and who you'll work with

You would join the team called “Claims Management”, in charge of refunding €350M+ of healthcare expenses every year to 1.1M+ members across France, Belgium, Spain, and Canada. Our mission is to refund each member as fast as we can and the right amount, while being cost-effective for Alan. We have internalized all the critical parts to handle health claims, which makes this product division a technical, deep, and exciting place to work.

Claims Management Contains Several Product Crews

• Claims processing: 2.5M documents received every year. We automatically parse a good portion of them with LLMs but we want to go further.
• Claims experience: Building the most memorable and straightforward experience for our members to understand their guarantees and get a claim refunded. Across 4 different countries, mobile and desktop.
• Global coverage: the engine that decides the right amount, everywhere. Modelling guarantees, care types and coverage rules once, globally, so a member understands what they are covered for before they even spend.
• Payments: Building a payment infra & source ingestion system to make sure our members get refunded super fast or better, they don’t need to advance the money.
• Fraud fighting: 6M€ saved in 2025 with an internal stack combining Machine learning scoring, anomaly detections, and manual investigations
• Claims platform: owns the compute backbone of claims processing: orchestration, queues, concurrency, capacity and performance observability. The mission is to make cost grow with the volume and complexity of claims processed, not with member volume or member history.
