Job summary

SOPHiA GENETICS is seeking a Software Engineer to develop web-based solutions for genomics and clinical data on a cloud-native SaaS platform. You will work with product, QA and cross-functional teams to align with market needs, regulatory standards and performance goals.

This hybrid role requires 2–3 years of software experience, strong React/Next.js/Node.js skills, Java backend expertise, and hands-on work with microservices, Docker, Kubernetes and GitLab.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of software engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience building reliable web-based services and releasing components to production.
• Strong front-end skills with React/Next.js/Node.js.
• Solid back-end knowledge with Java and microservices architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of web-based solutions for genomics and clinical data platforms.
• Collaborate with product, QA and cross-functional teams to meet market needs and regulatory standards.
• Drive code reviews, mentoring, and cross-team alignment for high-quality software.
• Streamline SDLC with CI/CD and DevOps practices (Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab).
• Optimize databases (MySQL, MariaDB, DuckDB) and improve data processing performance.
