Wabtec in France seeks a Freight System Engineer to design and integrate braking and digitalization systems for customer solutions. You will act as the primary liaison across project teams, Wabtec sites, and customers in France and beyond.

The role requires higher education in mechanics or engineering and at least 5 years in an industrial setting, with strong knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, or electronic systems, and proficiency in English and Italian (French is a plus).

• Assume technical responsibility for projects and ensure overall solution consistency through commissioning.
• Manage technical requirements and their traceability throughout the project lifecycle.

How will you make a difference?

As a Freight System Engineer, oversee the integration of braking and/or digitalization systems to ensure delivered solutions meet customer requirements. You will serve as the primary point of contact between project teams, Wabtec sites, and customers, both in France and internationally.

What will your typical day look like?

• Design and develop railway braking systems and digitalization solutions.
• Manage technical specifications and interfaces between various subsystems.

What do we want to know about you?

Required education and experience:

• Higher education in mechanics or engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in an industrial environment.

Required skills/qualities:

• Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, or electronic systems.
• Ability to draft technical specifications and work on complex projects.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, or electronic blueprints and schematics.
• Professional Italian and English (French is considered a plus)
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders.
• Availability for regular travel within Europe and occasional international travel.
