NTT DATA is seeking a Forward Deployment Engineer to help customers accelerate AI transformation by designing AI-ready data platforms and sovereign data spaces. You will work directly with clients to assess their data ecosystems, define roadmaps, and deliver production-ready platforms and PoVs.

You will architect data lakehouse and data warehouse solutions, implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, and collaborate with AI engineers and stakeholders to achieve measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Forward Deployment Engineer, Data Platform Engineer, Data Architect, Solutions Engineer, or similar customer-facing role focused on enterprise data platforms.
• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise data platforms, AI data layers, and sovereign data spaces.
• Deep expertise in data lakes, lakehouses, data warehouses, ETL/ELT, data federation, data virtualization, APIs, event-driven architectures, and distributed data systems.
• Strong understanding of AI-ready data architectures supporting analytics, ML, generative AI, RAG, vector DBs and knowledge graphs.
• Experience with sovereign data ecosystems and interoperability frameworks such as GAIA-X, IDSA, and DSIF.

• Build innovative data space solutions that extend GAIA-X, IDSA, DSIF standards to address business needs.
• Recommend technologies and engineering practices for each customer, tech-agnostic with AI-assisted development.
• Ensure solutions are secure by design, scalable, maintainable, and compliant.
• Collaborate with AI Engineers, Solution Architects, and stakeholders to deliver measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to identify business challenges, data opportunities, and AI use cases.




• Assess enterprise data ecosystems, applications, infrastructure, and digital maturity.




• Define roadmaps for AI-native transformation, focusing on AI-ready data platforms and sovereign data spaces.




• Design, develop, and deploy production-ready data platforms, data spaces, and rapid Proofs of Value (PoVs).




• Architect modern enterprise data solutions, including data lakes, lakehouses, data warehouses, and federated data spaces.




• Design scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, API-driven integrations, streaming architectures, and AI-ready data layers.




• Build innovative data space solutions that extend standards such as GAIA-X, IDSA, and DSIF to address customer‑specific business requirements.




• Recommend the most appropriate technologies, architectures, and engineering practices for each customer, remaining technology‑agnostic while leveraging AI‑assisted development to accelerate delivery.




• Ensure solutions are secure by design, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise governance and compliance requirements.




• Collaborate with AI Engineers, Solution Architects, and business stakeholders to deliver measurable business outcomes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Forward Deployment Engineer, Data Platform Engineer, Data Architect, Solutions Engineer, or similar customer‑facing role focused on enterprise data platforms.




• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise data platforms, AI data layers, and sovereign data spaces.




• Deep expertise in data lakes, lakehouses, data warehouses, ETL/ELT, data federation, data virtualization, APIs, event‑driven architectures, and distributed data systems.




• Strong understanding of AI‑ready data architectures supporting analytics, machine learning, generative AI, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, and knowledge graphs.




• Experience with sovereign data ecosystems and interoperability frameworks such as GAIA‑X, IDSA, and DSIF, with the ability to innovate beyond reference implementations to deliver customized business solutions.




• Broad knowledge of modern cloud, hybrid, and enterprise technologies, with the ability to rapidly learn, evaluate, and adopt emerging tools and platforms.




• Experience with containerization, infrastructure automation, CI/CD, DataOps/MLOps, observability, and secure‑by‑design engineering practices.




• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI‑assisted development and intelligent engineering tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining high quality and security standards.




• Excellent consulting, communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills.
