Job summary

Runtime in Paris is seeking a hands-on fullstack engineer for a hybrid on-site role. You’ll work with analysts and decision-makers to understand real workflows and ship practical, production-ready solutions. Stack: React and TypeScript on the frontend, Node on the backend, Python for data and integration work.

Deployments run across European sovereign cloud and on-prem environments. Requirements: 2+ years in fullstack or backend-leaning roles; strong TS/React/Node and Python; ability to scope

Qualifications

• 2+ years in fullstack or backend‑leaning roles.
• Strong TypeScript and modern React/Node, plus comfort in Python.
• Ability to scope ambiguous problems and ship a working solution.
• Experience translating between non‑technical stakeholders and engineering.
• Experience in public sector, defence, security or other highly regulated environments.
• Eligibility for security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Work on-site with analysts and decision-makers to understand how they actually operate, not how a spec says they do.
• Find the real problem, prototype quickly, and carry the solution from first sketch to production.
• Build and ship integrations, workflows and product adaptations for each customer’s environment, including on-prem
• Feed what you learn straight back into the core product roadmap
• Join a newly formed Forward Deployed team with an experienced lead, alongside commercial leadership that has scaled sales at some of the best-known developer and AI platforms

Salary: €80.000 - €120.000 Fixed Salary + Variable Bonus + Equity

Location: Paris (Hybrid)

Most engineers never see what happens to their code after it ships. In this role, you’ll be in the room when it matters.

We’re working with an Series A Paris-based deep-tech startup building a sovereign data and decision-intelligence platform for governments and critical-sector organisations. The tech is already proven: proprietary R&D, live deployments with national security agencies and Tier 1 banks, and six-figure contracts per project. Now they need engineers who can take it into the field and make it indispensable.

What you’ll do

• Work on-site with analysts and decision-makers to understand how they actually operate, not how a spec says they do
• Find the real problem, prototype quickly, and carry the solution from first sketch to production
• Build and ship integrations, workflows and product adaptations for each customer’s environment, including on-prem
• Feed what you learn straight back into the core product roadmap

• The ability to work independently: scope something ambiguous, ship a working solution, iterate from real user feedback
• Confidence translating between non‑technical stakeholders and engineering
• Experience in public sector, defence, security or other highly regulated environments
• Eligibility for security clearance
• Fluency with agentic coding tools and code models
• You pick up unfamiliar codebases and client environments fast
