Alan is looking for a Finance Controller to own the financial controlling function in France. You will be responsible for P&L reviews, variance analysis, and ensuring the accuracy of financial figures. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience with French accounting standards, be fluent in both English and French, and possess strong analytical skills. Remote work flexibility is offered, valuing in-person collaboration to maintain a focused and high-quality work environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the financial controlling function in France, including monthly P&L and Balance Sheet reviews, variance analysis, commentary, and audit readiness.
• Ensure figures are accurate, well‑documented, and ready for scrutiny, and oversee the organization of the finance function across subsidiaries and the integration of potential acquisitions.
• Challenge, improve, and automate financial processes: write controlling specifications for the Financial Data team, identify improvement points in the monthly reporting cycle, and drive concrete improvements.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure financial data is well understood and leveraged for decision‑making, and own specific financial streams across geographies.
• Contribute to scaling the team, including participation in hiring and onboarding future team members.

Qualifications

• Financial expertise: at least 5 years of experience with French accounting standards and how financial statements work; background in a top audit firm and/or a fast‑paced scale‑up. Familiarity with consolidation and process automation is a bonus.
• Languages: fluent in both English and French.
• Analytical mindset: strong analytical skills with the ability to maintain a holistic view while staying rigorous at the detail level. Basic SQL or AI tools knowledge is a bonus.
• Soft skills: rigorous, hands‑on and highly organized; critical thinker who provides concrete proposals; comfortable working with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders; strong ability to work autonomously, move forward independently, and make clear decisions even in ambiguous situations.
• Familiarity with insurance accounting or regulated financial entities is a strong plus.

• Location: must be legally eligible to work from France.
