Lucis, Paris-based startup building the OS for human longevity, seeks a Finance Operations & Strategy Lead to own the financial operating system. This hands-on role balances day-to-day finance with strategic decisions, directly supporting founders and the leadership team.

You will build systems, processes, models, and visibility to plan, spend, report, and scale across European markets. You’ll partner with executives to drive clarity and impact.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in finance, FP&A, accounting operations, or related fields.
• Experience in fast-growing startups or tech companies is a plus.
• Strong cash flow, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and controls.

The role

We are looking for a Finance Operations & Strategy Lead to build and run the financial operating system of Lucis. This is a hands-on, high-leverage role for someone who can move comfortably between the details of day-to-day finance operations and the questions that shape company-level decisions. You will own the accuracy and cadence of our financial operations while helping the founders understand what the numbers mean and what we should do next.

You will work directly with the founders and leadership team, with significant autonomy to improve how Lucis plans, spends, reports, and scales. This is not a pure accounting role and it is not a traditional FP&A role: you will build the systems, processes, models, and visibility required for both.

This is not a CFO role, yet. You will be working with our fractional CFO.

What You Will Do

• Maintain a reliable view of cash, runway, revenue, costs, working capital, and unit economics.
• Own the annual budget and rolling forecasts.
• Lead budget‑versus‑actuals reviews with functional leaders.
• Build dashboards and reporting that give the founders a clear view of company performance.
• Turn financial data into concise recommendations and decisions.

• Build models for pricing, hiring, market expansion, partnerships, and major investments.
• Evaluate business cases and resource allocation across the company.
• Prepare analyses and materials for leadership, investors, and the board.
• Explain the financial consequences of operational and commercial choices to non‑financial stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to automate, simplify, and improve how Lucis works.

• Introduce the tools and processes needed for a scaling, multi‑market company.
• Use automation and AI to eliminate repetitive finance work and improve accuracy, with appropriate human controls.
• Partner with Operations, Growth, Product, and Engineering to create a single source of truth.
• Gradually build the finance function as Lucis grows.

• Own accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, expenses, payroll coordination, and cash management.
• Manage external accountants, payroll providers, banks, auditors, and other finance partners.
• Run the monthly close process and ensure reliable, timely reporting.
• Build finance processes, controls, approval workflows, and documentation.
• Establish the operating cadence for payments, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance across our European markets

Who You Are

• 5–8 years of experience in finance, FP&A, accounting operations, strategy, or a combination of these.
• Experience in a fast‑growing startup, technology company, or similarly demanding context.
• Strong understanding of cash flow, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls.
• Extremely comfortable with the latest of Claude Finance, and the overall AI x finance stack.
• Excellent financial modelling skills.
• Able to turn messy data into clear analysis and practical decisions. Basic knowledge of coding is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain finance clearly to non‑financial stakeholders.
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented, and dependable.
• Comfortable working independently, making judgement calls, and building from scratch.
• Fluent in English & French.
• Experience with multi‑country European operations, subscriptions, healthcare, or consumer businesses is a plus. You might have worked in strategic finance at a startup, advised fast‑growing companies in consulting or transaction services, or owned finance and operations in a smaller company. We care more about your ability to create clarity and make things happen than about a perfectly linear background.
