Job summary

CEA IRAMIS in Saclay is seeking a Research Scientist to lead high-level experimental work in femtosecond laser physics and nonlinear optics. You will develop cutting-edge research programmes, supervise students and postdocs, and collaborate with national and international partners to advance laser beamline capabilities.

The role requires a PhD in laser physics with specialization in nonlinear optics, a strong publication record, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

PhD in laser physics with specialization in nonlinear optics.
2–5 years of laser physics research experience; postdoc is an asset.
Strong experimental expertise in high-repetition-rate amplified femtosecond laser systems, nonlinear optics, ultrashort-pulse diagnostics, pulse compression, and temporal-contrast techniques.

Responsibilities

Initiate and develop a high-level experimental research programme in femtosecond laser development.
Contribute to project development and funding through competitive calls (national and Horizon Europe).
Establish collaborations with national and international laser laboratories.
Contribute to evolution of laser beamlines by proposing innovative solutions to meet needs.
Supervise interns, PhD candidates and postdocs.
Disseminate results via publications and international conferences.
