The Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Assistant to perform manual labor and support building upkeep across parish properties, primarily at the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center.

You will assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting, follow preventive maintenance schedules, complete work orders accurately, document work, and support a Facilities Maintenance Technician while upholding safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in building maintenance or construction.
• Must follow safety procedures and wear PPE as required.
• Valid Louisiana driver’s license required.

Responsabilités

• Perform maintenance and repair tasks on parish buildings, equipment, and facility systems using hand and power tools.
• Assist with HVAC maintenance including filter changes and preventive schedules.
• Carry out plumbing tasks such as unclogging drains, replacing fixtures, and repairing leaks.
• Support electrical tasks like lighting replacements and basic electrical work.
• Provide carpentry and painting support; assist with setup for parish events.
• Record work orders and report issues to supervisor; maintain clean work areas.
