Testia SAS, a subsidiary of Airbus, seeks an experienced NDT Technician/Engineer specialized in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) to join its team in Toulouse. The role focuses on developing advanced NDT machine solutions, coordinating with software and mechanical teams, and supporting deployment of UT methods for metallic and composite components.

Responsibilities include defining NDT solutions, preparing technical proposals, supporting testing at partner sites, and mentoring junior colleagues.

Qualifications

• Technician or Engineer with solid industrial field experience in NDT (>5 years).
• Ideally certified in multi-element Ultrasonic Testing or equivalent.
• Experience with metallic and composite components.

Responsabilités

• Conduct NDT investigations on new materials and structures to assess inspectability.
• Define high-performance turnkey NDT solutions based on customer needs.
• Prepare technical proposals and specifications.
• Assist in assembly, installation, validation, and qualification activities.
• Support commissioning at customer sites and knowledge transfer to juniors.
• Provide technical support to internal teams and external customers.

Position Summary:-

Testia SAS, a subsidiary of Airbus, is seeking an experienced NDT Technician or Engineer specializing in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) to join its Products & Equipment team in Toulouse.

The role will focus on the development of advanced NDT machine solutions and will combine innovation and engineering. The successful candidate will work closely with software and mechanical development teams as well as external partners to specify, validate, and support the deployment of advanced NDT solutions.

The position will also involve providing technical expertise in selecting the most appropriate NDT methods for complex materials and configurations, with a particular focus on metallic and composite components.

Responsibilities:-

• Conduct non-destructive investigations on new materials, processes, and structures to determine their inspectability based on acceptance criteria and industrial constraints.
• Participate in defining relevant and high-performance turnkey NDT solutions based on analysis of customer requirements.
• Participate in the preparation of technical proposals.
• Support the preparation of technical specifications.
• Participate in and monitor assembly and installation phases.
• Conduct development and fine-tuning activities at partner locations.
• Participate in validation and qualification activities.
• Support commissioning and start-up activities at customer sites.
• Support the development and skills enhancement of junior colleagues.
• Participate in maintenance activities.
• Provide technical support to other departments and external customers in France and/or abroad.
• Prepare test reports, manuals, and presentations of results.
• Monitor technological developments and evaluate the capabilities of new technologies.

Qualifications:-

• Technician or Engineer with solid industrial field experience in NDT of more than 5 years.
• Ideally certified, or possessing an equivalent level, in multi-element Ultrasonic Testing.
• Significant experience in inspection applications involving metallic and composite components.
• An active or previous Level 3 Ultrasonic Testing (UT3) certification would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of other NDT methods, such as Eddy Current Testing or infrared thermography, would be an advantage.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Strong ability to analyze customers' technical requirements and make appropriate proposals.
• Curious, dynamic, autonomous, organized, and rigorous approach.
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously while managing priorities.
• Good team spirit and strong customer relationship skills.

Requirements:-

• More than 5 years of industrial field experience in NDT.
• Certification or equivalent level in multi-element Ultrasonic Testing.
• Experience with inspection applications for metallic and composite components.
• Good written and spoken English is required.
• Willingness to undertake occasional or extended travel in France and abroad depending on project requirements.
• A valid driving licence (Permis B) is required.
