Description du poste

Join us as an ESG Intern

Help drive Qonto's ESG strategy and strengthen our commitments in environmental, social, and governance topics. You'll work on high-visibility projects that directly shape our company's sustainable future — from CSRD compliance and carbon footprint assessments to supplier sustainability engagement. You will be part of our ESG team, contributing to strategic initiatives that impact our 600,000 customers and support Qonto's mission.

As an ESG Intern at Qonto, you will:
  • Support ESG projects: Help drive projects and consolidate/analyze data for key ongoing initiatives including compliance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), building and verifying reported data against requirements, and monitoring ESG KPIs throughout the year.
  • Engage with suppliers on ESG criteria: Support efforts to assess and monitor suppliers with Ecovadis, helping ensure responsible sourcing and procurement practices while contributing to our supply chain sustainability monitoring.
  • Improve ESG policies and procedures: Be a force of proposition for enhancing and monitoring Qonto's ESG-related policies (e.g., circular economy) and procedures to ensure alignment with industry standards and regulations through benchmarking.
  • Support Qonto's annual carbon assessment: Ensure the scope of activity assessed is coherent with corresponding emission factors attribution and verify there are no omissions in data to be analyzed.
  • Create ESG awareness and training materials: Support internal initiatives for developing training materials and awareness campaigns on ESG practices for employees across different departments.
What you can expect:
  • Market/Team Context: Join a dynamic ESG team at a pivotal stage — Qonto is transitioning to a credit institution (CI), which means adapting our entire ESG framework to new regulatory standards. You'll be at the heart of this transformation with high visibility across the company.
  • Methodologies: We value thorough analysis and structured approaches to ESG challenges. You'll work in a collaborative environment where your ideas and propositions are valued and can directly impact company-wide initiatives.
  • Impact: Drive key initiatives that shape Qonto's sustainable future while developing expertise in the European ESG regulatory framework, data reporting, and KPI monitoring in a fast-paced fintech environment.
  • Tools we use: Work with ESG rating solutions like Ecovadis, data consolidation tools for CSRD compliance, carbon footprint assessment platforms, and various internal systems for monitoring and reporting.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with legal and teams internally, plus interaction with external ESG rating providers.
About your future manager

You will report to Milagros, who brings expertise in ESG strategy and will be your primary point of contact throughout your internship. Milagros is based in Paris and fosters a structured, supportive, and professional environment where you'll have real ownership of projects. The team values clear communication, rigor, and a continuous learning mindset.

About You
  • ESG knowledge: You have a solid understanding of ESG fundamentals — climate, governance, reporting, CSRD, carbon footprint methodology. Whether from a dedicated sustainability degree or a reconversion path, you know the basics.
  • Sector background: You have experience (even an internship) in banking, payments, investment funds, or consulting on climate/ESG projects. Proximity to fintech and financial services matters.
  • Project management skills: You can structure and drive work autonomously. This is a must — you cannot succeed in this role without it.
  • Analytical mindset: You are comfortable with KPIs, data consolidation, and reading regulatory or compliance texts.
  • AI-driven: You actively use AI tools in your daily work and know how to be critical and intentional about the output — not just copy‑paste.
  • Communication skills: You can explain complex ESG concepts to non‑ESG stakeholders and manage relationships with internal teams and external providers.
  • Language: English is mandatory. French, German, Spanish, or Italian is a plus.
  • Location: You must be based in France, available for a hybrid arrangement in Paris.

This is a 6-month internship position.
