Mistral is seeking an Engineering Team Lead to build and develop the core platform that supports our AI products. You will balance hands-on coding with strategic leadership, driving technical solutions while guiding the team toward long-term success.

You will split your time between hands-on coding and strategic leadership, including project planning, stakeholder collaboration, and team growth. This role focuses on developer experience and scalable infrastructure for internal and external users.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and at least one web framework.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience building and leading engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and ability to collaborate with Product, Design, and Business teams.

The Role

As an Engineering Team Lead, you will build and develop the core platform that supports our AI products. This role combines technical execution with leadership, ensuring our systems work effectively for developers and users.

Your work will directly improve the developer experience, making it more efficient and intuitive. The team builds reliable infrastructure that supports our products and enables seamless integration for both internal and external users.

What You Will Do

What We’re Looking For

• Proficiency in Python and at least one web framework (FastAPI, Django, Flask).
• Proficiency in C#, Golang, TypeScript and at least one web framework.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience building and leading engineering teams.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams, such as Product, Design, and Business.
• Knowledge of databases, caching mechanisms, and messaging systems.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ownership mindset and ability to ship products end-to-end.
• Excellent communication skills and a low-ego, team-first attitude.
