Aptiv in Villepinte, France, seeks an Engineering Program Leader to drive cross-competency program execution, interfacing with Program Management, Accounts, and global engineering functions to ensure on-time, on-cost, and on-quality delivery.

The role leads Resident Engineers and Engineering Project Leaders, recruits as needed, and partners with customers to shape proposals, align resources, and deliver engineering excellence across programs.

The Engineering Program Leader role in Aptiv has responsibility to solve cross-competency issues within a dedicated program portfolio. This person will be working closely with Program Management, Accounts as well as the Engineering Global Functions for the program portfolio execution, profitability and execution of all engineering activities. This includes managing engineering deliverables on time, on cost and on quality. Levels with supporting documentation through coordination and leadership of the Resident Engineers and Engineering Project Leaders. It is expected that the EPL acts as a Primary interface to Customer for engineering deliverables, time plan and execution.

Major Accountabilities:

• Ensuring successful execution of Customer Programs to plan and successful launches belonging to the aligned program portfolio
• Being a strong customer interface and cultivating strong relationships within APTIV with all involved engineering domains and the program management as well as accounts, mainly on the Program Manager/Director level
• Working with Technical Accounts and Sales teams on developing engineering proposals to win targeted business opportunities with the customer. Aligning possible solutions with global functions (GPO, GES) as appropriate.
• Demonstrate technological capability and leadership to effectively consolidate the requirements derived from diverse technology and customer trends and expectations
• Ensure that engineering budget and headcount needs across competencies and project phase (ADP, Quote, PDP, and Warranty) are accurate and targets are met
• Lead and develop the customer application engineering team (EPjLs, Technical Managers, Residents)
• Execute hiring as required to meet commitments
• Facilitate continuous improvement and re use in design and development to achieve performance and Material Cost Improvement Process (MCIP) targets
• Drive engineering excellence by identifying engineering quality/efficiency improvement opportunities and drive improvements within. Ensure compliance with project development processes and organizational transformation initiatives
• Build and maintain effective relationships with potential and existing suppliers and customers; communicate with customer and supplier technical management and work with them to resolve technical or risk issues as needed
• Work closely with the global product development responsibles to align resources and projects to meet project goals and ensure quotes are doable within budget, resource and technical capability

Your Background:

• Master's degree or bachelor's degree in engineering with relevant years of experience
• Product Development Process knowledge and experience at bringing technical products to market
• Proficiency on technical reporting and summary
• Proven Customer facing experience on the leadership and outcome based roles
• Proven track record in negotiating and influencing
• Planning / organizing skills
• Fluent English speaker, German skills will be an advantage
• Ability to work in a virtual team environment, as well as leading the international team
• Ability to network & collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a matrix organization
• Understanding and using Servant Leadership

Le poste d'Engineering Program Leader chez Aptiv est responsable de la résolution des problématiques cross-competency au sein d'un portefeuille de programmes dédié. Cette personne travaillera en étroite collaboration avec les équipes Program Management, Accounts, ainsi qu'avec les Engineering Global Functions, afin d'assurer l'exécution du portefeuille de programmes, sa rentabilité et la réalisation de l'ensemble des activités d'ingénierie. Principales responsabilités

• Être une interface client solide et développer des relations fortes au sein d'APTIV avec l'ensemble des domaines d'ingénierie impliqués, le Program Management ainsi que les Accounts, principalement au niveau Program Manager / Program Director.
• Travailler avec les équipes Technical Accounts et Sales sur le développement des engineering proposals afin de remporter les opportunités commerciales ciblées auprès du client. Aligner les solutions possibles avec les fonctions globales (GPO, GES) lorsque cela est approprié.
• Démontrer des capacités technologiques et un leadership permettant de consolider efficacement les exigences issues des différentes technologies ainsi que des tendances et attentes des clients.
• S'assurer que les besoins en engineering budget et en headcount couvrant les différentes compétences et les différentes phases du projet (ADP, Quote, PDP et Warranty) sont correctement définis et que les objectifs sont atteints.
• Diriger et développer l'équipe Customer Application Engineering (EPjLs, Technical Managers, Residents).
• Piloter les recrutements nécessaires afin de respecter les engagements pris.
• Faciliter l'Continuous Improvement et la re-use des conceptions et développements afin d'atteindre les objectifs de performance et du Material Cost Improvement Process (MCIP).
• Promouvoir l'Engineering Excellence en identifiant les opportunités d'amélioration de la qualité et de l'efficacité de l'ingénierie, et en mettant en œuvre ces améliorations. Garantir le respect des project development processes ainsi que des initiatives de transformation de l'organisation.
• Développer et maintenir des relations efficaces avec les fournisseurs et les clients existants ou potentiels ; communiquer avec les responsables techniques des clients et des fournisseurs et collaborer avec eux afin de résoudre les problématiques techniques ou les risques lorsque cela est nécessaire.
• Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les responsables globaux du Product Development afin d'aligner les ressources et les projets sur les objectifs des projets et de garantir que les quotes sont réalisables dans le respect du budget, des ressources et des capacités techniques.

Votre profil

• Diplôme d'ingénieur (Bachelor's Degree ou Master's Degree) avec plusieurs années d'expérience pertinente.
• Connaissance du Product Development Process et expérience dans la mise sur le marché de produits techniques.
• Maîtrise du technical reporting et de la rédaction de synthèses.
• Expérience confirmée dans des fonctions Customer Facing, avec des responsabilités de leadership et orientées résultats.
• Expérience démontrée en négociation et capacité à influencer les parties prenantes.
• Excellentes compétences en planification et en organisation.
• Anglais courant indispensable ; la maîtrise de l'allemand constitue un atout.
• Capacité à travailler dans un environnement d'équipe virtuel (virtual team environment) ainsi qu'à diriger une équipe internationale.
• Capacité à développer un réseau et à collaborer avec de multiples parties prenantes dans une matrix organization.
• Compréhension et application des principes du Servant Leadership.
