A leading tech company in France is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead its Edge Detection Team. This role involves overseeing a skilled team of engineers, tackling complex technical challenges, and driving performance optimization and AI-driven detection improvements. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in engineering management, proficient Java skills, and the ability to balance technical and strategic responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications

• 7 years in engineering management roles, proven track record of scaling teams.
• Proficient in Java, experience with high-performance systems.
• Experience growing engineers from intermediate to tech lead roles.
• Hands-on with code (~30% of time), but also strategic.
• Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and production reliability.

Responsabilités

• Manage and grow a team of 5 engineers, focusing on performance.
• Empower the team to build high-performance, production-ready solutions.
• Define best practices and internal processes for efficient work.
• Contribute to the technological vision of the detection engine.
• Lead cross-team initiatives in collaboration with other squads.
• Define team objectives through OKRs, balancing innovation with excellence.
• Contribute hands-on to the Java codebase (~20% of time).
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure production reliability.
