Canonical is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the MAAS team, overseeing distributed software engineering for Metal as a Service. You will mentor engineers, shape architecture, and drive delivery across Python, Go, Linux, and cloud technologies.

This work-from-anywhere role emphasizes leadership, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and advancing modern software practices. Travel for in-person events is expected 4-6 weeks per year, with a strong focus on performance and impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proven experience delivering software using Python, Golang, or similar languages.
• Experience leading high-performance distributed teams.
• Strong Linux system administration knowledge (Debian/Ubuntu).
• Fluent English with excellent presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
