As part of the Outbound Campaigns team, you will be working on breaking down a monolith and building Five9’s next generation, cutting-edge modern microservices platform. An ideal candidate for us is an experienced engineering manager who has a strong background in software development combined with proven leadership skills to mentor and grow high‑performing engineering teams. This team is focused on building high‑performance scalable microservices with a test‑driven development mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Be part of the Outbound Campaigns Team, focused on building the next generation outbound campaigns management features in the public multi‑cloud and hybrid‑cloud solutions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Oversee the design, development, and execution of engineering projects, ensuring quality, timelines, and budget compliance.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers on the team.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure high code quality and standards adherence.
• Identify technical debt and propose and implement solutions for improvement.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in software engineering.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams like Product, Quality, Ops and other development teams to drive technical initiatives forward.
• Conduct performance evaluations, set career development goals, and support professional growth for team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• 12+ years of experience in designing and developing distributed, and scalable systems, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
• Experience in breaking down monoliths into microservices with an emphasis on resiliency.
• Proven experience managing and scaling engineering teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and modern engineering workflows.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and scalable architectures is a plus.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to think strategically.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
• You understand what it takes to run mission‑critical software in production.
