Main duties and responsibilities

Perform all assigned process tasks, including but not limited to the safe operation of all boiler equipment and controls in support of MDF production. Additionally, the operator will be required to perform basic, routine equipment maintenance and cleaning on all machinery and workspaces in the assigned area of responsibility. The operator will be required to understand and manipulate computer software related to the management of boiler operations. The operator will also be required to identify conditions in the process or equipment which may lead to substandard production levels and initiate the proper corrective action. Further duties include assisting maintenance personnel in the troubleshooting, repair, or preventive maintenance of equipment. This position will be required to work a rotating shift schedule including weekends.

Requirements
  • Intermediate knowledge of MDF manufacturing processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of associates.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Demonstrated high energy level, strong work ethic, and positive approach to problem solving.
  • Basic computer skills including the ability to manipulate a mouse, move between screens, and interpret data.
  • The ability to use power tools, measuring devices, and other hand tools.
  • The ability to read and comprehend complex data.
  • The ability to perform basic preventive maintenance procedures.
  • The ability to work with others in identifying and solving complex manufacturing problems.
  • The ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
