ENGIE, a global leader in low-carbon energy, invites a motivated student to join the Energy Demand Forecast team as an internship. You will contribute to European energy transition studies, model long-term demand for sectors, and support the development of internal energy demand models.

The 6-month internship offers hands-on experience in energy system modeling and forecasting, with exposure to decision-makers and public institutions. Start in Nov 2026 or Jan 2027.

Qualifications

  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities.
  • Knowledge of energy, climate or economic topics.
  • Ability to work with complex datasets and economic models.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Programming knowledge (Python or R).
  • Strong synthesis and presentation skills.

Responsabilités

  • Contributing to the development of long-term European energy transition scenarios supporting ENGIE’s strategic planning.
  • Modeling long-term energy demand for specific sectors using bottom-up approaches based on equipment stock evolution and tech developments.
  • Improving macroeconomic correlations and forecasting assumptions related to GDP, purchasing power and other indicators used in energy demand projections.
  • Supporting the development and enhancement of ENGIE’s internal integrated energy demand models.
  • Analyzing the impacts of energy transition pathways on electricity, hydrogen, methane, biomass and other energy vectors.
  • Preparing analyses, presentations and recommendations for internal stakeholders and external clients.
