Harmattan AI is seeking an ML Research Engineer to push the boundaries of autonomous defense systems. You will join the Detect&Track Distillation team at an early stage, distilling large foundation models into compact, task-specific components for edge and embedded devices.

You will work across Paris/Lausanne/Zurich sites or remotely, focusing on model distillation, edge optimization, and MLOps pipelines, collaborating with foundation and systems teams.

Qualifications

• A strong academic record with a STEM degree or equivalent.
• Experience with vision models and target detection tasks.
• Hands-on expertise in distillation, model compression, and edge deployment.

Responsabilités

• Distill large foundation models into efficient, task-specific components.
• Optimize neural networks for constrained embedded systems.
• Build and manage training, evaluation, and MLOps pipelines.
• Curate data for task-specific datasets to improve accuracy.
• Benchmark and evaluate models for latency and deployment readiness.
• Stay at the forefront of computer vision and quantization research.
• Collaborate with the Detect&Track Foundation and System Engineers.
