JOB SUMMARY

Responsibilities include overseeing the operations of retail stores through the implementation of best practices, a customer-service focus, and process improvement efficiencies to realize optimum revenue. The District Store Manager is accountable for collaborating with the Store Managers and other Retail staff to support the Goodwill Mission.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute the Retail Operations strategic plan through efficient collection, processing, and sale of donated goods.
  • Prioritizes store performance issues and implements corrective operational strategies
  • Positively motivates and energizes staff through proactive decision making and communication
  • Provide effective leadership, training, and support to Store Managers
  • Assist in the development of a proactive recruiting, onboarding, and training program for assigned retail stores
  • Assist in the start-up and store refresh process for new/existing retail store locations.
  • Oversees the merchandising and display of assigned retail stores and Goodbytes, supervise the E-commerce manager, assist with E-commerce operations and customer service, ensure seamless coordination between E-commerce and retail stores, and provide feedback and accountability.
  • Facilitate and support the Goodwill Mission in all facets of retail operations, including the Work Experience program.
  • Collaborates with the Store Managers on setting annual store budget sales goals
  • Participates in the strategic planning and budgeting process
  • Ensure that all operations adhere to safety policies and procedures, including OSHA and CARF standards
  • Effectively utilize retail sales and performance data/reports to evaluate gaps between actual and projected performance
  • Conducts training for Store Managers and Assistant Stores Managers
  • Actively support change and participate in process improvement activities that exhibit out of the box thinking to advance the retail program.
  • Work with the IT department to ensure all retail systems and technology are operating in an efficient manner.
  • Offer input to our new goods program
  • Meet or exceed the attendance expectations for this position.
  • Actively maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of employees, customers, and participants.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, human services, or related field preferred
  • A minimum of five (5) years diversified experience in a retail management position involving supervision of personnel, planning, and budgeting required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Must have strong written, verbal, organizational and planning skills
  • Must have good decision-making skills
  • Must have a good knowledge of all aspects of retail operations
  • Must be able to work in a proactive, results oriented manner
  • Must be able to travel locally within the Goodwill service area
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Sedentary; Lifting up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers, and files. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Limited General office environment infrequently exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).
