Northern Illinois University’s Workforce Policy Lab seeks a Director of Operations and Organizational Development. This senior role partners with the Executive Director to drive clarity, accountability, and growth across a mission-driven lab.

The candidate will supervise staff, shape internal systems, and coordinate cross-team work while advancing inclusive leadership and organizational capacity. This position anchors contract oversight and external partnerships within a university setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in related fields; leadership experience accepted with a bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum seven years of progressively responsible experience in organizational management or leadership.
• Experience developing people from diverse backgrounds and building inclusive teams.

Responsabilités

• Directly supervise program staff with clear expectations and professional development.
• Build trust and cohesion during organizational change and transitions.
• Lead the design of internal operational infrastructure and cross-team coordination.
• Establish a real-time project tracking system across all contracts.
• Manage budgets in coordination with staff and Executive Director.
