Edtlab in Strasbourg is offering a PhD position focusing on the design of digital twins for wireless networks. The candidate will work on developing data collection methods and control mechanisms for low-power wireless systems.

The ideal candidate should have a Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and strong skills in programming, especially in C. Knowledge of machine learning and wireless protocols is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Master degree in Computer Science (CS) or Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE).
  • Excellent programming skills in C.
  • Knowledge of at least one scripting language, preferably Python.

Responsabilités

  • Investigate the design of digital twins for wireless networks.
  • Develop frugal data collection and closed-loop control mechanisms.
  • Translate predictions into actionable adaptations within low-power wireless systems.

Connaissances

Excellent programming skills in C
Embedding programming
Knowledge of scripting language (preferably Python)
Statistics and measurements
Understanding of wireless networks (protocols and radio propagation)
Knowledge of Wi-Fi and LoRa
Machine learning and deep learning algorithms
Good verbal and written English skills

Formation

Master degree in Computer Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering

This PhD investigates the design of digital twins for wireless networks, aiming to develop frugal data collection and closed-loop control mechanisms that translate predictions into actionable adaptations within low-power wireless systems.

  • Master degree in Computer Science (CS) or Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE)
  • Excellent programming skills in C
  • Embedding programming
  • Knowledge of at least one scripting language, preferentially Python
  • Statistics and measurements
  • Wireless networks (protocols and radio propagation)
  • Knowlegde of Wi-Fi and LoRa would be an asset
  • Machine learning and deep learning algorithms (as a user)
  • Good verbal and written English skills
  • French is not a requirement
