Job summary

UTC is seeking a research engineer specialised in industrial engineering to work on the Quatrium platform within the Mechanical Engineering Department and the Roberval Laboratory in Compiègne.

You will design and validate digital twins of an integrated industrial workshop, exploring smart control, optimisation and resilience in production systems, while transferring innovations to demonstrators and liaising with partners.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in industrial or mechanical engineering.
• PhD would be an advantage for research-led activities.
• Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop digital twins of the Quatrium platform and its equipment.
• Define multi-level models including geometry, physics and scheduling rules.
• Develop advanced control approaches for production decision-making under uncertainty.
• Create experimental scenarios and demonstrators from research findings.
• Integrate robotics, conveyors and information systems within the platform.
• Evaluate robustness, responsiveness and efficiency of methods.
• Coordinate demonstrations and liaise with academic and industrial partners.
