Job summary

ESRF invites applications for an Electronics Engineer to contribute to the COLD Project in Grenoble. You will bridge engineering development and accelerator research, working on RF control, stability studies and performance optimisation with leading international labs.

The role emphasizes early-career engineers, with a strong research-oriented engineering profile and collaboration across disciplines. The position is a temporary contract with a 36-month maximum, located at ESRF in Grenoble,

Qualifications

  • Master-level degree in electronics or related field; PhD beneficial.
  • 3 years of hands-on experience in digital electronics and RF.
  • Strong LLRF and control systems background with measurement skills.
  • Knowledge of RF transmission lines, conditioning and testing.
  • Familiarity with PID/PI control, real-time systems and timing.

Responsibilities

  • Install and commission LLRF acquisition and control for LINAC RF units.
  • Develop test plans to benchmark system performance and stability.
  • Advance automated RF testing and power conditioning of components.
  • Perform FAT and SAT with suppliers as needed.
  • Contribute to control system architecture specifications.
