Job summary

Talantir seeks experienced Consultants to join a pool for the Clean Energy sector under an IFDK-funded framework. You will support technical assistance for identification, preparation, and monitoring of energy projects with emphasis on off-grid solutions and climate resilience.

The role requires 10+ years in decentralised/off-grid energy, experience in developing regions, and full professional English. Shortlisted candidates are contacted as projects arise. Rolling applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in the EQF or equivalent in energy/environment/economics/engineering.
• 10+ years in decentralised/off-grid energy, mini-grids, storage tech.
• Experience in least developed or lower income countries as per OECD DAC.
• Full working proficiency in English (CEFR C1) written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance for identification, preparation, and implementation of clean energy projects.
• Support monitoring of infrastructure projects in alignment with standards.
• Conduct sector assessments and investment prioritisation.
• Lead project preparation, study execution, and advisory services.
• Deliver climate risk/adaptation assessments and GHG accounting.
• Support capacity building and knowledge transfer.
• Provide ad hoc technical and multidisciplinary support.

About the Opportunity

We are creating a pool of Consultants in the Clean Energy Sector for the IFDK-funded Framework Agreement for Technical Assistance Services – Public Infrastructure Finance Projects. Consultants in this pool will be contacted for specific assignments as they arise. If you have relevant experience, we encourage you to apply.

Main task

The Consultants shall provide comprehensive technical assistance services to support the identification, preparation, implementation, and monitoring of clean energy and climate-related infrastructure projects in less developed countries, in alignment with PI’s impact mandate and IFDK’s internal standards.

The Consultant’s services may include but are not limited to:

• Sector Assessments and Investment Prioritisation;
• Project Preparation and Study Execution;
• Environmental and Social (E&S) Advisory Services;
• Climate Risk and Adaptation Assessments;
• Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Accounting;
• Impact Measurement and Management;
• Capacity Building and Knowledge Transfer;
• Ad Hoc Technical and Multidisciplinary Support;

Required skills and experience

• University-degree education (at least Bachelor’s Degree) in the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) or equivalent university degree, preferably but not exclusively in one of the Energy, Environment, Climate, Economics, and Engineering related fields.
• At least 10 years of relevant and ongoing work experience in decentralised and off-grid energy solutions, including development of mini-grids, standalone systems, and energy storage technologies to serve remote and underserved populations.
• Project experience working in least developed, low-income, or lower middle-income countries as classified by the OECD DAC list of ODA recipients.
• Full working proficiency in English, both written and spoken (accredited with at least level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages or equivalent).
