Job summary

IFP Energies nouvelles – Lyon offers a six-month paid internship in modelling and optimization of freight and passenger transport fleets, including loading constraints and route topography. The role targets Master 2 or final-year engineering students with strong modelling and data analysis skills, Python programming, and an interest in development and research.

Work will take place at IFPEN –Solaize, starting February 2027.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of modelling and data analysis.
• Programming skills (Python or equivalent).
• Knowledge of vehicle modelling (powertrains, propulsion systems, electrification) is a plus.
• Interest in development and research.

Responsibilities

• Enhance existing tools for simulating and comparing decarbonization scenarios by developing new models, testing them, and analyzing their sensitivity.
