Job summary

Salomon is seeking a Data Science Intern in Annecy to collaborate with planners and merchandisers, modernizing reporting, automating processes and building analytical tools that inform business decisions.

This internship offers exposure to real-world planning, large datasets and end-to-end analytics projects, from needs assessment to usable solutions, with strong autonomy and ownership.

Qualifications

• Student in Data Science, Engineering or Applied Mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain automated reports and dashboards for sales, stock, margin and performance monitoring.
• Simplify, optimize and partially replace complex Excel-based tools using Python, SQL or BI solutions.
• Automate recurring workflows such as data extraction, transformation and consolidation; weekly/monthly business reports; PowerPoint presentations for reviews.
• Support forecasting and demand planning tools: sales forecasts, inventory projections, scenario simulations.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies and drivers across B2B and B2C channels.
• Collaborate with business teams to translate needs into analytical solutions.
• Document tools and processes to ensure scalability and knowledge sharing.
• Develop basic forecasting or machine learning models; create standardized datasets and data models.
